J- Reed, who was born Joren Reed on December 6th, 1987 in Boston, MA exhibited his skills as a prolific singer, song writer, and producer at the early age. On a recent interview, J-Reed stated “I’ve always loved music but I considered it a passion when I couldn’t go one day without creating a new song. I consider music not only a passion but an addiction.” An addiction that has led to his widely anticipated debut self entitled album J-Reed.
Executive produced by Jr. Melody of Ryt Melody Productionz; this album is the epitome of an original pop sound with an urban R&B twist. With musical influences such as Michael Jackson, Ne-Yo, R. Kelly, and Mario; Reed stated “these are some of the artists I look up to because it’s a bit of the new and old school music. When I was younger, listening to artist like these inspired me to adopt qualities of each particular artist and blend it into my own style.” In addition to his musical influences, J-Reeds driving force is seen through family and friends when said. “I love my family and friends but the person who stands out to me the most is my mother because she has taught me to never give up on my dreams and she has always been supportive of my music and has given me the push I needed.”
When asked what separates you from other artist, J-Reed responded “I come off quiet but when I zone out in a song I feel like I’m on top of the world. My mind leaves the booth and it’s just me and the microphone.” And while on the mic, Reed describes himself as being “immortal because when I create a song, I feel as though I’m not human, like the songs I create seem imposable to even imagine.”
