About Beantown Rising Star
Hot97Boston’s morning show is launching a year long search for
Initially each contestant submits a radio edit song consisting of original lyrics and production and each week contestants are winnowing down by competing against each other to form a select group of local artists who will sing and rap their hearts out each Thursday for the entire world and listening audience of Hot97Boston. During round two contestants will be invited live on the air for interview and live audition. The eventually finalists will compete live in front a of a live Hot97Boston audience for the title of
Beantown Rising Star 2010.
The on-air radio judges have their say after every song is played on the radio program, then the phone lines are opened up to the listeners to call in and volte and voice their opinions on each contestant and song. Although the radio judges have a big part in determining the week to week winners, it’s the listeners who will ultimately decide who will become
Beantown Risings Star 2010. Voting is done via telephone calls during Notorious In the Morning & the Breakfast Club and online at www.hot97boston.com immediately after each morning show, and the results are announced during the following Rising Star Thursday radiocast. Eventually the competition is narrowed down to three finalists who compete for a major recording/production contract with Pipeline Studios, with produced song added to regular rotation at Hot97Boston, and the title of Beantown Rising Star 2010. |

Hot97 Boston is looking to show case talent for aspiring artists on a new segment called Beantown Rising Stars.
Contest Requirements:
-Aspiring Artists
-Cannot be an established signed artists
-Talent in Hip-Hop, R&B, Dancehall, Reggae
-Based in
-Sing, Rap, Comedy, Poetry
Contest Details:
-Two callers compete every Thursday
- Listeners will call in to vote along with On-Air Judges
- If you win twice in one month, you will be amongst the Rising Stars of the month, and will move on to compete the following month towards the ultimate goal of being crowned Beantown Rising Star.
